The Garden

Martha and Catherine are both experienced artist facilitators who've worked with a diverse range of groups. Martha is also a community gardener. Their recent collaboration: The Garden, was an ambitious series of prints commissioned by the Open Society Foundation about about the role of plants and gardens in enabling survivors of torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in the UK.

"The garden is like paradise for us - when I came here I was very depressed and without hope. It was winter and now for me it’s spring."

The Garden
was made with members of Room to Heal from Cameroon, Turkey, Madagascar, and Cote D’Ivoire, psychotherapist Mary Raphaely.

"We eat that! We eat that back home!"
